When playing 2 player VS mode, at the screen to choose a character, hold down both the R and L buttons on both controllers at the same time and you can select one of the evil characters to play.

Choose the 1p Vs. mode, and move the cursor to ‘Hard.’ Hold L and Up, then press A. The game just switched to Super-Hard Mode!

On the VS. mode for 1P game, as soon as the Rainbow screen goes away, QUICKLY hold X&Y. You will be able to select any of the rescued characters!
