Can’t complete the Training mission in Driver for the PC, but want to play the game?
Easy.

Make a copy of the file DRIVERDATAMLADDER.DML first!

Edit the DRIVERDATAMLADDER.DML file in Notepad or a similar text editor.
Remove the two lines:

INTERVIEW
QUITONFAIL

Save the file, then you can start Driver and go straight to the missions!!

When trying to beat your opponent in the Knights Templar puzzle, losing two out of three games sends you back to the start. To avoid this, when you lose a game, click to exit the puzzle when you hear the scathing remarks about your failure. Then, click back on the puzzle again, and you’ll be able to pick up where you left off. -Sometimes it’s hard to hear. So save often and replay segments where you think you may have missed critical facts. Keep in mind, however, that you’re limited to just six save positions. -To get around the problem of having only six save-game locations, back up or compress the six dgsave#.dat files (where # is a number from 0-5) and the dgnames.dat file. You can restore them later if you need to backtrack in the game.

Easy POP capture

If you are playing a quick battle, choose a Tornado spell and an Ancour spell. Walk up to a POP (place of power) that is guarded by an enemy. Cast Ancour on yourself. Then, cast Tornado on the POP. The enemy should fly away and the POP left clear for you to capture.

Crossing the bridge

In labyrinth level is a “bridge”. If you walk across it, you will be teleported to the pit below. To cross the bridge, do not walk over the markings or symbols on it.

Accurate Harkonnen Deathhand

When you play as House Harkonnen, you receive a palace in later levels. This palace contains the Deathhand missile. While extremely powerful, it is also the most highly inaccurate projectile. However, if you put the pointy end of your mouse on the top of a structure’s flag when aiming and simultaneously hold down the letter T, this missile will destroy that structure and those around it in a single shot.

Hex Edit

When you start a mission (at least with the Atreides), if you save it as soon as you start, your spice credits will be stored in byte 24354 (hex). If you’ve already made something in the game, the proper position will not be exactly that, but it won’t change much. So far, I only noticed a change up to byte 24344 (hex). I took the offset values with xe, an hex editor for dos, which I use to edit all my savegames. And as I said, I only tested with the Atreides.

Full moon bonus level

Set the system date to any day on which a full moon falls and begin a game. The bonus level is designated by a flag that contains a circle.

All creatures, buildings, and traps

At the main menu, type “please give all”.

Cheat mode

Use the spell to transfer yourself into one of your minions during a game in the dungeon. Then while in the minion, press [F12] to display the cheat menu. Use the mouse to highlight a cheat.
