I’ve been playing Age of Conan Hyborian Adventures since it’s first release in Europe, well to be completely accurate two days after AoC was released 23rd of May and it rocks.

This is not the only massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) I’ve played, been playing The World of Warcraft online game for about two years (just before the Burning Crusade release) and also dabbled in Entropia Universe (which I hated) and Runescape (which is free, but not as enticing as WOW and now AoC).

Update: I’ve also played the beta release of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and have preordered the full release game (I might make this my main MMO game).

Easter Egg

In the asylum, get the hammer from the box in Sartorius’s chambers, then go and click the brain with the hammer exactly ten times. Then if you navigate to where you see the hand, you’ll see a picture of one of the programmers.

Type chloe from anywhere in the game, and it will take you to a library book. Open the book and turn the page to see “Drew in his natural habitat” (AndrewSilber, one of the programmers).

Type hellosailor anywhere in the game to see the history of Zork.

Hint

Every time you obtain one of the 24 needed items, your score will increase by 12 points. There is a character called the Jester, who will both help and annoy you. He will give you a funny paper and a slate, both of which contain important information that may vary from game to game. When he sticks a clown nose on your face, you must remove it before you suffocate. When he turns you into an alligator, you will drop all your possessions and be unable to pick up anything until you turn back a few moves.

Within the game, try typing the following words at appropriate places. Before trying any of these, be sure to save your game!

mikespants = type this at any point in the game, then navigate through the Easter egg screen.
eat me = type in front of the skeleton in the Hades Subway Station
whoami = type this at the credits screen and you will get a list of people’s names who worked on ZGI. Clicking on a name will type out a personalized greeting from that person.
killmenow = type this at any point in the game.
huisok = Type this at the phone in Hades just before solving the damn phone puzzle.

You must defeat the invisible demon in the Caves of ZZT, when going to get the key in Hell. The demon will only stay on the sides of the room.

Cage area

You can press the blocks one at a time and not release animals in the cage area after passing through the castle . However, you will not receive any points from them.

This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the “ .zcm” file in the “bin” folder in the game folder. The file contains a number which represents the current level. Change that number to “210614544″.

Rapid Shockwave attack

This can only be done on the unpatched game in single player mode. Hold [Shift] and repeatedly click on an immobile target while the shockwave unit charges. Multiple energy blasts will be fired.
