Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the “user.ini” file in the game folder. Locate a key that is not already bound to a game function, such as “t”. Add the “talk” command to that key. For example, “t=talk”. Repeat this for all entries for that key in the file. Press T during game play, press [Backspace] to remove the word “Say” from the talk window, then type set DeusEx.JCDentonMale bCheatsEnabled True to enable cheat mode. Then, press T and enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function. Note: It is helpful to talk to a key that is bound to the “set DeusEx.JCDentonMale bCheatsEnabled true” text so it does not have to be typed manually in every level.

Duplicate items

Place an item in your belt. Take the item to be duplicated drop it on the ground. Walk away without leaving the screen, then click on the item again. As you pick the item up, click on an item in your belt immediately before taking the item on the ground. If timed correctly, the name of the item that was duplicated will appear in the box down below. It will have the same appearance as the item on the belt that was clicked on. Drop the item on the ground or place it in the back pack and it will re-appear correctly. However, do not create a second item of the same type and put both on the ground. If this is done, the duplicate item will be destroyed.

Retrieving items after death

Save and exit the game after dying. Restart the game, and your corpse will be in town, allowing you to retrieve your possessions. If your corpse is close to a waypoint, cast a shielding spell, or equip any shield, then quickly run to your corpse and run back out. If any tough monsters are near the waypoint in BattleNet, ask another player that can defeat them to clear the way.

Get any item

Use the following trick to get almost any desiered item. Go to the person in your highest Act that gambles (for exampel, Gheed or Jamella). Go to gamble. A list of good items will appear. If you do not see anything desirable, exit, then go to gamble again. There will be a new list of items for sale. Repeat the process until you have found what you want.

Turbo boost

Quickly shift into first gear when the bike is in mid-air while the front wheel is higher than the rear wheel. Keep the throttle up as the bike returns to the ground. Note: The rear wheel must hit the ground first for the boost.
