Secret characters

Press A, R, L, A at the main menu when “Press Start” is flashing. The heads of two secret characters will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm correct code entry. You can the select the two secret characters in any mode.

Press B, R, L, B at the main menu when “Press Start” is flashing. A planet will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm correct code entry. Select puzzle mode to access new levels.

The quickest way to move up in the rankings is to challenge the number one team.

Super Throw

Get the ball and back up slightly from the line. Then, press Forward(2) to run. On the third footstep or crunch, press Throw. You will perform a Super Throw. There are 50 Super Throws in all. You can also do a Pass Super Throw and a Running Jump Super Throw. Note: These can be blocked.

99 Lives

In world 5-3 come up to the surface and throw the shell on the ground there, it will keep bouncing off of the walls back and forth. Jump and land on the shell and wait for the birds to drop the bombs. The shell will kill the bombs, and after you get a certain amount you start getting 1-UPS, you can do this forever until you have 99.

Instant Reset

To trigger the game’s built-in soft reset and restart the game without using the power switch, simply hit the following buttons at the same time: Select + Start + A + B.

Bandit Mini-Games

To use the Bandit Mini-Games any time go to the stage select screen, hold select and then press L, L, B, A, R. You will be taken to a screen with all six games where you can get unlimited power-ups.

Bonus Games

To unlock mini-games to play at your own free will, simply get a score of 700 or more for a world. The bonuses for each world are:

World 1: Flip Card’s
World 2: Drawing Lot’s
World 3: Scratch n’ Match
World 4: Match Cards

World 6: Slot Machine.

Finding White Mushroom Houses

If you get enough coins in certain levels, you will find a White Mushroom House back on the map. Here are the minimum amount of coins you need to pick up at the following levels:

World 1, Level 4 — 44 coins
World 2, Level 2 — 30 coins
World 3, Level 8 — 42 coins
World 4, Level 2 — 22 coins
World 5, Level 5 — 28 coins
World 6, Level 7 — 78 coins
World 7, Level 2 — 42 coins

Alternate game

Successfully complete all 96 goals to get another color scheme for the world map, alternate enemies, a new introduction sequence featuring Yoshi, and other changes.

Music from Mario Brothers

Enter any of the special levels and remain on the world map. Leave the game idle until the music changes.

Change coins from Yoshi to Princess

Collect all five Yoshi Coins from each level. An animation will appear showing them change from Yoshi Coins to Princess Coins.

Once you collect all of the Dragon Coins in the entire game, they will turn into Princess Coins.

Change in Seasons

Ok, this cheat is fairly hard and time consuming. Once you fight your way up into Star World in the sky, you will have to beat all of the levels up there. Soon the mountain in the middle will be acessible, and you can bring mario there. Enter this new realm and you will see a series of new, expert levels. Complete all of these levels to change the season. It will go from the basic Mario, to an orange and brown fall, with new characters, such as the Koopas will turn into Pumpkin Headed freaks. Have fun, and don’t forget to save!

Easy special moves

While fighting in a single player battle, press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, A sound will confirm correct code entry. This will allows you to pull off special moves with easy movements. Fir example, as Ryu press Forward + Punch for the Fireball, and the Fireball move now does the Dragon punch. This makes the game much easier to play with the small D-pad. Press Select to toggle “Easy special mode” on or off.

Black Monsters

Defeat 999 of any regular monster to turn it into a Black monster. Black monsters have high stats and can drop Altena Felt and Crystals which make the most powerful equipment in the game.
